About me
I completed my undergraduate medical training in Lodz, Poland. I have over 15 years of experience in medicine and cardiology in the UK, where I moved after obtaining the medical degree in 2006. I completed the specialist Cardiology Training in North-East London, and I was appointed as a Consultant Cardiologist in 2020.
I have robust research experience. I obtained a PhD in Cardiovascular Sciences from the Queen Mary University of London in 2017. During my PhD, which focused on a rare heart muscle disease (cardiomyopathy), I worked in London and the National Institutes of Health in the United States. I co-authored over 35 scientific articles in cardiology and cardiovascular sciences.
I have a particular interest in healthcare management, quality improvement and clinical governance. In 2017, I secured a prestigious Darzi Fellowship, during which I was working on improving heart failure services in East London. The European Society of Cardiology recently awarded me a grant to complete a master's degree in Health Economics at the London School of Economics.
I have established innovative services at my base hospital. I continue active participation in clinical research, quality and safety improvement and clinical governance.
I am committed to treating my patients as I would treat my family. My specialised set of skills, solid clinical training and multidisciplinary approach enable me to treat the most complex cases of heart diseases.
I look after patients suffering from shortness of breath, chest pain, palpitations, irregular heartbeat, faints and loss of consciousness, high blood pressure and high cardiovascular risk.
I aim to deliver optimal cardiac care through a quick diagnosis, individualised treatment and tailored prevention of cardiovascular diseases. I carry out tests such as ECG, echocardiography, ECG Holter monitors (from 24 hours to 14 days), ambulatory blood pressure Holter monitoring, cardiac stress tests. Some of my patients require further testing with CT coronary angiograms (CTCA) or cardiac magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) of the heart. I collaborate with experts who perform coronary angiography, cardiac catheterisation, and ablations of abnormal rhythms.
Areas of interest
Heart failure; complex devices; valvular diseases; adult congenital heart disease
