About me
Nadim is an HCPC registered Clinical Psychologist who has worked in the NHS since 2008, in various fields of mental health. With a strong theoretical background and a doctoral thesis in parenting and attachment security, Dr Ahmad has a highly developed interest in the impacts of varying factors of childhood development in later behavioural and emotional outcomes. He has specialised in working with complex presentations including developmental trauma, disrupted attachment and pervasive trauma histories (including PTSD).
In working with people with emotional distress, Nadim takes a warm and genuine approach in order to listen carefully to the person he is working with and take into account their needs and goals in order to find an approach that works best for those individuals or families in question. Nadim is trained in a number of different therapeutic modalities; including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Compassion Focused Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction, Trauma Focused CBT, and Video Interaction Guidance amongst others.
In addition to his work in the NHS and with Balanced Minds, Nadim provides ongoing therapy, consultation and training to organisations involved in providing an early response to major traumatic events in the UK and overseas; including the Grenfell Tower Fire, the Christchurch Mosque attacks, and the Rohingya Refugee Crisis.
