About me
Dr Hannah Went is a Clinical Psychologist with over 15 years experience of working in the NHS with adults with mental health difficulties. She specialises in women's health, including mental health difficulties linked to hormonal changes such as menopause and perimenopause, and PMDD.
Her previous experience has ranged from helping people with mild emotional distress, to individuals with highly complex and enduring difficulties, including working in inpatient services and working with addictions. She excels at building trusting and supportive therapeutic relationships through her honest but empathic approach to therapy.
Hannah has trained extensively in CBT, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT). She is also trained in Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), Mindfulness based approaches, Behaviour Family Therapy (BFT), and Schema Therapy.
Hannah is a registered Practitioner (Clinical) Psychologist with the Health & Care Profession Council (PYL33439) and offers face to face therapy in Dundee and online across the UK.
Areas of interest
Dr Hannah Went has a particular interest and expertise in women's health, including working with women during periods of transition and hormonal fluctuation such as the perinatal period, menopause and perimenopause.
She also particularly enjoys working with a wide range of adults with difficulties relating to: anxiety; panic; OCD; trauma; low self esteem; and difficulty regulating emotions.
She is trained in a range of psychological therapies but primarily offers: Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT); Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR); and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). She will frequently incorporate schema therapy and elements of Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) into therapy for more longstanding or complex difficulties. Hannah has also completed extensive post qualification training in difficulties during the menopause and perimenopause, and CBT based approaches to coping with menopause.
