About me

I am an accredited member of the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP) practicing over the last 14 years following this professional governing body's ethical framework in provision of gold standard therapeutic support.

As a Person Centred Counsellor I have been priviledged to support individuals via settings inclusive of:

NHS GP Practice working alongside both adults & children requiring support for a diverse range of both psychological & medical conditions.

Hospice setting providing extensive support for patients & family members of all ages living with progressive life limiting conditions.

One of the largest British charities providing extensive psychological/emotional support to cancer sufferers.

Private Practice supporting adults, children & couples requring support for a diverse range of psychological/medical conditions. I am also a qualified supervisor, supporting fellow supervisees in clinical practice & lecture in the field of counselling modalities.

How can I support you in striving towards growing emotional well being?

The Person Centred Approach holds a firm belief that each of us as individuals has a natural ability to strive towards a better place. However, this process can be hindered by situations or environments we find ourselves in which have a tendency to create resultant thoughts, feelings & emotions that block this process of moving forward towards this better place. I can introduce different ways of working for us together to grapple with these thoughts & feelings, hopefully then freeing the way for you to find the best way forward for yourself.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy is an additional approach which I often integrate if deemed appropriate. With this approach there is a firm belief that each of us as individuals have a tendency to form negative thought patterns. I can introduce ways of working to challenge such thought patterns, with the aim to transform them to a more healthy or realistic perspective.

In general we can find ourselves surrounded by people who want to support us through challenging times. However, we may feel we do not want others to know certain thoughts we hold tightly on to or we may not wish to burden others. It is hoped that in our work together you begin to feel able to share some of these deep felt emotions in a safe, empathic, non judgemental, confidential setting & work together in supporting you to strive towards that better place.

My overall aim is to support you in becoming your own therapist, providing you with ways of working that will hopefully support your emotional well being way beyond the end of our time together.
