About me
I am a Consultant Anaesthetist at University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Trust and the Acute Pain Service lead at Heartlands, Good Hope and Solihull Hospitals.
I underwent postgraduate training in the UK Warwickshire School of Anaesthesia and advanced training in anaesthesia for Obstetrics, ENT, Maxillo-facial and Upper Gastrointestinal Surgery in the West Midlands.
I also completed a 6-month Difficult Airway Fellowship at University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire, a renowned excellence centre in this field.
I am a Fellow of the Royal College of Anaesthetists and a diplomat through examination of the European Society of Anesthesiology and Intensive Care and the European Society of Regional Anaesthesia and Pain Medicine.
I am actively involved in clinical research and I regularly teach at regional and national level on the management of difficult airways and regional anaesthesia.
Areas of interest
I routinely practice anaesthesia for major colorectal, cytoreductive, vascular, ear, nose and throat, obstetrics, orthopaedics and trauma surgery.
I have special interests in difficult airway management, ultrasound-guided regional anaesthesia nerve blocks and innovative ways of managing acute post-operative pain.
