About me

I am a counsellor and psychotherapist experienced at working with anxiety, depression and self-criticism and how these relate to relationships past and present, including self-esteem and self care. I'll support you to set goals during our assessment and to work towards these throughout our time together. I work with adult clients only (17+). I have recently worked with a lot of clients with autism and ADHD and supported clients through the assessment process and identifying possible neurodiversity.

Although I work with a wide range of client difficulties, I specialise in working with clients transitioning into a new phase of life - the start or end of a relationship or job, adapting to life with children, loss of a child, managing the impact of different stages of parenting, perimenopause and menopause, becoming a carer, living with a medical issue, or retiring.

We will work towards your goals, which may include exploring relationships, work, hobbies, self-esteem, expectations, shame, self-love and acceptance. I work with clients on finding meaning in life, adapting to changing circumstances and finding out who they are, what they love and where they want to focus their time and energy.

The first priority is to build trust. I work to create this by being real, understanding and nonjudgemental, holding boundaries for you and working with you to focus on your goals. I'll offer you creative approaches, coaching, Focusing techniques, outdoor mindfulness - which are all there for you to take or leave, as you tune into what you need.

I offer face-to-face indoor and outdoor (walk & talk) therapy as well as online sessions. Outdoor sessions are in Ilkley, St Ives Estate Bingley and Silsden canal path - allowing us the benefit of fresh air, movement and the natural environment as we process the difficulties you're facing. My counselling room is in Keighley.
