About me

Consultant General Surgeon & Oncoplastic Breast Surgeon

I was appointed as Consultant General and Oncoplastic Breast Surgeon at the Western Trust in 2019. I am based at Altnagelvin Area Hospital.

I specialise in the treatment of breast cancer, benign breast problems, skin and general surgery conditions and hernia surgery.

I have a special interest in oncoplastic breast surgery for cancer patients and in the assessment of hernias with comprehensive experience of hernia repair surgery.

I gained subspecialty fellowship training in Dublin focusing on breast cancer management and combined oncoplastic breast surgery procedures, including breast implant, pedicled flap reconstruction and revisional breast surgery for breast cancer and benign breast disease.

I have a broad range of experience in general surgery and breast surgery having worked in multiple tertiary referral units in Northern Ireland, Scotland and Republic of Ireland.

I am currently a Recognised Postgraduate Surgical Trainer (Western HSCT) and Undergraduate Medical School Tutor (QUB & Ulster University).
