About me

I am a kind, friendly and down to earth CBT/EMDR therapist and really value and enjoy building a helpful therapeutic relationship with the people I work with. I adhere to best practice clinical guidelines but also recognise that there is a need to be flexible and tailor my approach to the individual in this.

I have many years experience working with people with a variety of mental health difficulties in the NHS and privately, and work with difficulties such as Depression, anxiety-based problems (Social Anxiety, General Anxiety, Health Anxiety, OCD, Phobias, Panic, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder), complicated Grief and Bereavement.

Within my CBT practice I use mindfulness-based practices and find that incorporating a CBT+ approach (combining CBT, mindfulness, compassion-focused therapy, and acceptance and commitment therapy in a structured way) helps support people to reach their goals.

I am also qualified in EMDR (eye movement desensitisation and reprocessing) which is a NICE recommended treatment for post-traumatic stress disorder and a variety of other problems such as phobias.
