About me

Dr Dipa Jayaseelan is a Consultant Neurologist at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery and West Hertfordshire NHS Trust where she has a busy NHS practice. She sees a combination of general and acute neurology patients and complex neuromuscular patients with channelopathies and inherited muscle diseases. She is also an honorary consultant at Great Ormond St Hospital, where she sees transition and paediatric patients, and an honorary lecturer at UCL Institute of Neurology, running clinical trials in neuromuscular diseases.

Dr Jayaseelan did her undergraduate training at the University of Cambridge and University College London where she graduated with a distinction in clinical practice. Her medical and neurology training was split between key London teaching hospitals, Royal Free Hospital, Hammersmith Hospital, and the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery. She was awarded an MRC clinical research training fellowship in 2009 and completed a PhD in muscle channelopathies at the UCL Institute of Neurology. She teaches extensively at undergraduate and postgraduate level and is a PhD and educational supervisor.
