About me
I am an accredited member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). My training involved four years of academic and clinical study and was also BACP accredited.
As an integrative therapist, I use different techniques from a range of therapeutic models to suit each client and their individual circumstances. This model allows me to respond to you in a way that will best fit your needs and empower you to process even the most challenging emotions. Listening to your questions and beliefs about counselling at the outset is crucial as it will enable us to form a trusting relationship which forms the basis for positive therapeutic work.
Areas of interest
Areas I can help with include anxiety, generalised anxiety disorder, social anxiety, depression, feeling sad, panic attacks, low self-esteem, and family issues. I am an experienced bereavement counsellor and worked for a number of years supporting bereaved family members, of all ages, in a hospice setting.
I have extensive experience supporting children and young people with a wide range of issues like depression, anxiety, bereavement and loneliness that can arise for many reasons including family separation, emotional neglect and abuse, domestic violence, and the loss of a loved one. I worked as a counsellor in a primary school for a number of years and now see children in private practice.
I work with clients who use the 12 step recovery programmes to address addictions to alcohol, drugs, gambling, food, eating disorders, and other related issues.
