About me
I attended the University of Aberdeen medical school before completing medical training in hospitals throughout Scotland. I undertook specialist Cardiology training in Edinburgh, including being awarded a research PhD in cardiac MRI. In 2018, I left Scotland for Sydney, Australia, to complete a clinical training fellowship in cardiac electrophysiology, before returning to NHS Lothian as a consultant in 2019.
My specialist area is treating patients with cardiac rhythm disturbances who have symptoms such as palpitations and blackouts. I am experienced in carrying out catheter ablation procedures including atrial fibrillation ablations, and implanting cardiac pacemakers and complex devices such as CRT and ICDs.
I am accredited with the European Society of Cardiology as a devices and electrophysiology specialist. I am a member of the Scottish Cardiac Society, British Cardiac Society and European Heart Rhythm Association of the European Society of Cardiology.
I am currently an author of the Cardiology chapter in Davidson's; Practices and Principles of Medicine (25th edition).
