About me
Dr Suvarna Mahavarkar is a consultant gynaecologist in Bristol, specialising in Women’s health and gynaecological conditions.
She qualified in India in 1997, following which she underwent specialist postgraduate training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in India. She completed her specialist training in obstetrics and gynaecology in the UK from the East Midlands, Peninsula and Severn (Southwest) deaneries. She has been a Consultant Gynaecologist (NHS) at St Michael’s Hospital and Weston General Hospital (University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust) since 2016.
She is a BSCCP (British Society of Cervical Cytology and Pathology) accredited Colposcopist and provides treatment for women with abnormal cervical smears. She is the lead clinician for care of women with vulval skin conditions at St Michael’s Hospital and treats women with complex gynaecological skin conditions.
She cares for women with gynaecological conditions like period problems, pelvic pain, vulval skin conditions, abnormal vaginal discharge or bleeding and menopause. She offers minimally invasive procedures (laparoscopic or keyhole surgery) to treat most gynaecological conditions. As a one-stop service, she also offers gynaecological scanning (transvaginal scanning) to women.
Dr Mahavarkar offers a patient-centred and personalised care to women with gynaecological conditions. She offers private gynaecology care at the Nuffield Health, Bristol Hospital.
