About me
Mr Majeed is a consultant Orthopaedic surgeon specialising in foot and ankle surgery and sports injuries.
His areas of expertise include managing a wide range of conditions including ankle pain, ankle arthritis, Achilles tendon disorders and injuries, bunion correction surgery including the keyhole surgery, foot and ankle fractures, arthritis in foot joints, inflammatory arthritis, big toe arthritis, and plantar fasciitis.
His particular interest is in ankle replacement surgery that helps to maintain the mobility in the ankle joint. He also offer keyhole surgery for bunion correction that reduces the pain and swelling related to the open surgery and achieves excellent results.
He provides treatment for sports injuries related to foot and ankle. These include ligament injuries requiring repair or reconstruction, ankle cartilage repair procedures and Achilles tendon ruptures requiring surgery or reconstruction. He specialises in offering keyhole surgical repair for Achilles tendon ruptures that reduces the risks of re-ruptures and wound related problems.
His particular emphasis during the consultation is to elaborate the details of what does the surgery involve and what to expect afterwards, taking you through the journey. He ensure that you have sufficient information and time to make the choice for you but also have all the support that is needed throughout the process.
Mr Majeed has a leading role in orthopaedic research with an extensive portfolio of his published articles and book chapters on key topics in foot and ankle surgery and trauma. He has presented his work at various international and national forums as an invited speaker. He has a lead role in undergraduate and postgraduate foot and ankle teaching. He has recently been awarded a Teaching Excellence Award by the University of Manchester.
