He gained the university gold medal during his medical degree and went on to study health economics, management, and cardiovascular outcomes at the London School of Economics and Political Science in 2017.
He has also undertaken an imaging and structural heart disease fellowship at Lausanne University Hospital in Switzerland, before becoming a specialist registrar at the London Chest Hospital. In addition, he has undertaken a structural intervention fellowship at Karolinska University Hospital in Sweden.
Dr De Palma previously worked as a consultant cardiologist at the University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
