About me

I am a Chartered Clinical Psychologist and worked in the NHS for 32 years. I have been practicing as a Clinical Psychologist since 1998 working with adults and older adults with mental health problems. In the last part of my NHS career, I worked as a Consultant Clinical Psychologist leading psychological therapy services in a local mental health Trust. I now work part-time in the NHS as Lead Psychologist for a staff well-being service and I also work in independent practice.

I work collaboratively with clients using a range of evidence-based therapies such as compassion focused therapy, psychodynamic models, and cognitive behavioural therapy. I am also an accredited Cognitive Analytic Therapist and Supervisor.

I am registered with the Health Care Professions Council (HCPC nos: 03506), British Psychological Society (BPS), and the Association of Cognitive Analytic Therapy (ACAT) where I am required to maintain regular supervision and training standards. I offer clinical supervision and mentoring to therapists and mental health professions.

When I meet with clients my approach is to work collaboratively to reach an understanding of their difficulties so we can agree on a set of goals for therapy. This may involve looking back at past relationships and recognising patterns of thinking and behaviours that have contributed to the present difficulties. Acknowledging the psychology between physical health, mental health and the body is also important. I draw on research and evidence based models and tailor my approach to fit the needs of the person.
