About me
Hello, my name is Roberta Richmond and I have been a practising counsellor for the past 15 years, managing one of Belfast's largest counselling charities and a team of 30 counsellors, providing therapeutic services to the NHS. I am a BACP Senior Accredited Counsellor and I am committed to providing counselling in a safe, confidential and non-judgemental environment.
Areas of interest
In my individual and couple counselling work, I encourage you to speak freely and openly, as calmly and gently as possible. All couples disagree about things, and that need not matter, if we can disagree in a healthy way. It's often helpful to think about how we express ourselves with our partner, the tone of voice, as well as the words we use, and to consider how we could best explain our point of view so that our partner can actually hear, and engage with, whatever we need them to know.
I have taken additional training in sex addiction therapy and can offer counselling sessions to support the individual, the partner and the couple.
While working as a counsellor, I have helped many individuals with a wide range of issues, including anger management, depression, bereavement, addiction, anxiety, low self-esteem and abuse, and in my couples counselling sessions I provide a safe space for people to talk through their difficulties.
