About me

Miss Khanam is an experienced Consultant in Cornea, Anterior Segment & Cataract, working in Moorfields and Spire St. Anthony's Hospital. Patients describe her a a brilliant Surgeon with superb skills and who puts them at ease.

She has done over 2000 intra-ocular including refractive procedures.She is a surgeon with a demonstrated history of working in the UK NHS hospitals and health care industry. She is skilled in Cataract, Anterior Segment & Corneal Surgery.

She is experienced in facilitation with great interpersonal Skills, training delivery, and mentoring. She is a senior examiner of Royal College of Ophthalmologist examinations. She is also the Training Program Director of Education and Joint Curriculum Delivery Lead for School of Ophthalmology, Health Education London.

Miss. Khanam graduated from the University College London in 2005. She worked in various subspecialities including Ophthalmology, Neurology, Ear, Nose & Throat and Neurosurgery before deciding on furthering her career in Ophthalmology. She gained her intercalated BSc in Neurosceience in 2002 and was awarded a merit in MSc with research in Biology of Vision at the Institute of Ophthalmology, University College London in 2010.

She began her Ophthalmology career in North London Hospitals including registrar and fellow rotations through Moorfields Eye Hospital, Royal Free Hospital, University College Hospital, Bartholomew Hospital, Royal London Hospital, Hillingdon Hospital, Kings College Hospital and Imperial Hospital.

She completed her FRCOphth and gained her Certificate of Completion of Training. She has been on on the specialist register since 2019. Having gained her FRCOphth she then spent further two years at Moorfields Eye Hospital as senior Fellow.

Her fellowships in Cornea, Anterior Segment & Cataract were at Imperial Hospital, Kings College Hospital and Moorfields Eye Hospital.

In addition, she has worked as a Consultant in Cataract, Cornea & Anterior Segment Surgery at Hull University Teaching Hospital.

Miss Khanam has completed her Post Graduate Diploma in Cataract and Refractive surgery (PG Dip Cat & Ref) from the Ulster University in June 2021. She has experience of all refractive surgery procedures including LASIK, LASEK, Implantable ICL, Natural lens replacement (Refractive lens exchange) and intra-ocular lens exchanges. She has also trained in asesthetic medicine.

Miss Khanam is founder and Trustee of UK based charity Mannan Foundation Trust (1147513) helping women and children of disadvantaged background.
She is also a Co-Chair of Homefield Association Charity.
