About me

Mr Hassan Elhassan Consultant ENT Surgeon | Sinus & Nasal Specialist

Mr Hassan Elhassan is a leading expert in sinus and nasal surgery, renowned for his skill in managing complex conditions such as sinusitis, nasal polyps, deviated septum, nasal obstruction, and breathing difficulties. With specialist training from world-leading sinus surgery centres in Varese, Sydney, and Zurich, he has developed advanced techniques in endoscopic sinus surgery. He is among the select few surgeons in the UK offering revision sinus and revision septoplasty surgery, as well as septal perforation closure.

In addition to his subspecialist expertise, Mr Elhassan treats a broad range of general ENT conditions in both adults and children.

A significant portion of his work involves second opinions and revision surgery, with 3040% of his patients referred by fellow ENT specialists.

Mr Elhassan is deeply committed to achieving optimal surgical outcomes and long-term results, a focus reflected in the excellent feedback he receivesparticularly from patients following successful operations.

A Londoner by background, Mr Elhassan qualified in Medicine from Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry (University of London) in 2005. He became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 2015 and completed his specialist training in ENT (Otorhinolaryngology) in 2016, gaining his Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT).

Appointed as a Consultant Surgeon in 2018, he holds NHS consultant privileges at Homerton University Hospital Foundation Trust and sees private patients at London Bridge Hospital and the London Independent Hospital.

Mr Elhassan also serves as Deputy Clinical Director for ENT in the London region. In this role, he has contributed to the development of the High Volume Low Complexity (HVLC) ENT pathways as part of the national Elective Recovery Programme, helping to coordinate surgical services across North East London.

He has a strong interest in surgical innovation and translational research, holding a BSc in Experimental Pathology. He supervises junior doctors and medical students, and has published in leading journals on evidence-based surgery and clinical technology. His work has been recognised through national and international invitations for talks and presentations and numerous postgraduate awards.

As a dedicated educator, Mr Elhassan chaired the Junior branch of the Association for the Study of Medical Education (ASME), was awarded University Colours for contributions to medical education, and convened the first cadaveric sinus dissection course in Wales. He also organised a national conference on undergraduate medical teaching.
