About me
I am a Consultant Cardiologist and Electrophysiologist at University Hospitals of Leicester. I studied medicine at the University of Cambridge before completing cardiology training in the West Midlands. During my specialist training, I was awarded a British Heart Foundation Clinical Research Fellowship, leading to a PhD from the University of Leicester. I then undertook advanced electrophysiology fellowships at the Ottawa Heart Institute in Canada and at the Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital, where I was later appointed as a Consultant before returning to Leicester.
My practice focuses on the personalised treatment of patients with heart rhythm disorders, including atrial fibrillation, ventricular arrhythmias, and slow heart rhythms. I perform over 200 procedures a year, including catheter ablation and device implantation. I lead the Ventricular Tachycardia Ablation Programme in Leicester, where I routinely use advanced imaging and 3D mapping technologies to improve outcomes in complex ablation cases. I also have particular interests in high-power, short-duration ablation strategies and radiation-free (zero fluoroscopy) workflows.
Alongside clinical practice, I contribute to national education and research in cardiac rhythm management. I serve on the scientific committee for the Heart Rhythm Congress and regularly review for international electrophysiology journals.
