About me
I hold four clinics and operate in five theatre sessions every week. The clinic and theatre sessions are in FOUR different NHS hospitals. I am also 1in 2 on call for my oncology patients and continue to have an extensive clinical work load across four hospital sites.
I deliver all local and national cancer quality and service targets as demonstrated by hospital data. A large volume of patients are treated under my direct care ( Theatre and CHKS). Nationally published data on Surgeon Level Outcomes for Head and Neck Cancer patients demonstrate the excellent results achieved under my care. Departmental audits confirm the excellent outcomes for my oncology patients in terms of survival and function when compared to published results. Data is planned to be published in peer reviewed journals in due course.
I am Lead Clinician for Maxillofacial Surgery and have developed a network of services across South Manchester ( Wythenshawe, Stepping Hill and Macclesfield) . I lead and manage services across all of South Manchester.
I am Academic Advisor to medical students, train junior doctors and dentists both within the hospital and at the North West and Mersey Deanery. I am now an Examiner and member of the Question Writing and Standard Setting Group at the Intercollegiate Examination Board for Maxillofacial Surgery
