About me
Mr Matthew Erritty MBChB MRCOG is a Consultant Gynaecologist specialising in general and complex benign gynaecology and minimally invasive surgery.
He sees women with a wide range of gynaecological problems, including heavy or painful periods, irregular or abnormal bleeding, fibroids, adenomyosis, ovarian cysts, pelvic pain, uterine polyps and endometriosis.
Mr Erritty has particular expertise in keyhole gynaecological surgery and regularly performs laparoscopic, hysteroscopic and robotic procedures including hysterectomy, ovarian cyst surgery, myomectomy, hysteroscopic removal of polyps and fibroids, and surgery for endometriosis.
Alongside his broad gynaecology practice, Mr Erritty is Clinical Lead for the Centre for Endometriosis and Minimally Invasive Gynaecology (CEMIG) at Ashford & St Peter's Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, a BSGE-accredited Endometriosis Centre. His NHS work includes the management of severe and complex endometriosis and multidisciplinary surgery alongside colorectal and urological surgeons when required.
He previously served as Specialty Lead for Obstetrics & Gynaecology at Ashford & St Peter's from 2022 to 2025 and remains closely involved in surgical training, research, clinical governance and quality improvement.
Mr Erritty believes that treatment should be tailored to the individual patient. Surgery is not automatically the answer: he discusses conservative, medical and surgical options and aims to give patients a clear understanding of their diagnosis and the choices available to them.
He sees private patients at Nuffield Health Woking Hospital and The Runnymede Hospital in Chertsey.
