About me
I am a Chartered Clinical Psychologist and Accredited Cognitive Behavioural Therapist with over 25 years experience in the NHS and Private Practice. Over my career I have led and developed a range of NHS psychological therapy services and clinical teams. As an NHS Consultant Clinical Psychologist, I was Clinical Lead of a West London Talking Therapies (formally IAPT) service for over 10 years. My private therapy practice is based across West London and I am currently offering a range of remote therapy options (video, telephone).
I am a registered Practitioner Psychologist with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), a Chartered Clinical Psychologist with the British Psychological Society (BPS), and a fully accredited Cognitive Behavioural Therapist with the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP).
Expertise: I have extensive experience with a wide range of common psychological difficulties, such as stress, anxiety and depression. I provide a comprehensive psychological assessment to help people understand the difficulties they are facing. I provide effective, evidence based psychological therapy, predominantly Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), in a warm, collaborative and non-judgemental environment. Alongside CBT, I am trained in a number of other evidence-based therapies including Interpersonal Therapy (IPT), Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Motivational Interviewing and integrate aspects of these therapies into my clinical work where appropriate.
Specialist Interest: I am passionate about providing excellence and a patient-centred approach to common adult mental health issues (anxiety and depression). I also have a special interest in women's health issues including perinatal and menopause psychological care. I also provide mental health support in elite sport, working with the British Olympic Association and the UK Sports Institute.
I have a wide experience of teaching, training and supervision across varied settings.
Professional Development: I am committed to regular clinical supervision in line with BABCP and BPS guidance, and regularly attend training workshops/ conferences to maintain and develop my knowledge and competencies.
