After graduating in 2001, he completed his specialist training in Gastroenterology in North West London. Dr. Rajendran's passion for research and education led him to St. Mark's Hospital, where he spent three years in a postgraduate research and teaching fellowship. In 2020, he was awarded an MD from King's College London for his research on the learning curve of colonoscopic polypectomy.

He has authored peer-reviewed publications from his research and has received numerous prestigious awards, including the 2016 NIHR CLAHRC Support Award, the ASGE Cook Medical Marsha Dreyer Award, and the BSG Best Teaching Abstract Award. His work has been presented at national and international conferences, cementing his reputation as a leader in the field.

He is also a member of several multidisciplinary working groups focused on improving the quality of endoscopy training.

Since 2018, Dr. Rajendran has been a full-time consultant at Hillingdon Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, where he serves as the Endoscopy Training Lead.
