About me
I am an Ophthalmic Surgeon with a special interest in Glaucoma based at Southend University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.
I had my training in comprehensive ophthalmology in Sri Lanka, and completed further training in various hospitals across the UK - North East Deanery (Sunderland Eye Infirmary, Sunderland, Royal Victoria Infirmary, New Castle and James Cook University Hospital, Middlesbrough) and KSS Deanery (Sussex Eye Hospital, Brighton, Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells Hospital, Kent)
I am a Fellow of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists, London, the Royal College of Surgeons and Physicians, Glasgow, and the Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh.
I provide general ophthalmology services that cover a wide breadth of conditions in adults, and specialised care for adults with glaucoma.
Areas of interest
My glaucoma care is comprised of comprehensive assessment and management including medical treatment, various laser procedures (YAG laser, SLT Laser, Cyclodiode laser), minimally invasive glaucoma surgery - MIGS procedures- (iStent inject, XEN gel implant, KDB Goniotomy usually combined with standard cataract surgery), augmented trabeculectomy with mitomycin/ologen implant, Preserflo Microshunt with MMC and glaucoma tube/valve implantation.
