About me
Dr. Sheeba Irshad is a Breast Cancer Medical Oncologist and a Senior Clinical Lecturer. She is also a Cancer Research UK Clinician Scientist. After returning from a visiting scientist position at The Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center at John's Hopkins University, Dr. Irshad was appointed Clinical Deputy Head of King's College London Breast Cancer Now Research Unit Programme in 2018. Her research focuses on understanding the tumour-immune cell cross talk in chemotherapy-resistant cancers and finding effective immunotherapy treatments for patients. She is also the translational lead and coordinating investigator for a clinical trial platform exploring the potential interactions between DNA damage response inhibitors and immunotherapy in high-risk Triple Negative Breast Cancers. Dr. Irshad has over 100 peer-reviewed publications and is often asked to speak at national and international conferences as well as advise pharmaceutical companies on their gynaecological cancer drug development.
