About me

Professor Simon Redwood is professor of interventional cardiology and honorary consultant cardiologist at Guy's and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust.

He is also Past President of the British Cardiovascular Intervention Society (BCIS) and a recognised Fellow of the American College of Cardiology (FACC), Royal College of Physicians (FRCP) and Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions (FSCAI)

Simon has been performing percutaneous coronary intervention for over 25 years. He also runs an active research team, has raised over £12m in grant funding and has supervised over 18 MD and PhD theses.

In 2023, he was the recipient of the Tony Gershlick Lifetime Achievement Award from BCIS.

He has extensive experience and is a worldwide authority in trans-catheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI). He has been performing the procedure since it was first made commercially available in 2007, and is frequently asked to lecture on the subject, performs live case demonstrations for teaching purposes to major International Cardiology meetings and has been invited to perform procedures in several countries worldwide.
