About me

I graduated from the University of Aberdeen in 2006. I completed my Core Surgical Training in 2010, followed by the award of PhD in 2014 for
2.2 investigating the malignant transforation of colitis cells in IBD models. I was awarded FRCS in 2019 prior to my appointment as a substantive
General & Colorectal surgeon at Glasgow Royal Infirmary in 2020. My subspecialty interests relate to endoscopy/colonoscopy, hernia surgery, pilonidal disease, haemorrhoids and laparoscopic surgery for colorectal cancer and inflammatory bowel disease. I lead a tertiary service for patients requiring reconstructive surgery for complex perianal and perineal conditions in collaboration with the Plastic Surgeons. I was appointed Honorary Clinical Senior Lecturer with the University of Glasgow and hold Fellowship with the Royal College of
Surgeons, Edinburgh. I am a member of the Faculty of Expert Witnesses Institute.
