About me

Dr Gulraiz Ahmad is a Consultant Musculoskeletal Radiologist based in Manchester. He qualified from the University of Birmingham and completed his foundation medical and radiology training in Manchester.

During a year-long fellowship in Musculoskeletal Radiology at McGill University Hospital Center (Montreal), Dr Ahmad obtained a wealth of experience in multiple imaging modalities and image-guided procedures, particularly related to trauma and sports injury, having had regular interaction with NHL ice hockey and Canadian football players, as well as College draft athletes. Dr Ahmad also gained extensive exposure to the imaging and diagnosis of soft tissue and bone tumours during his fellowship.

Dr Ahmad's practice involves reviewing and reporting X-rays, CT and MRI scans. He also performs diagnostic ultrasound scans, as well as treating various joint and soft tissue disorders with image-guided intervention.

Dr Ahmad strongly believes in a multidisciplinary approach to optimising patient care and has regular contact with orthopaedic surgeons, rheumatologists, sports doctors and physiotherapists through various multidisciplinary meetings.

Dr. Ahmad has regularly published in peer-reviewed journals. He enjoys an active role in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and currently serves as an honorary senior lecturer at the University of Salford.

Gulraiz spends a lot of his spare time playing football and running and understands the frustration of getting injuries! He also enjoys travelling and considers completing the Inca trail and sailing through the Amazon as some of his life highlights.
