Professor Rajan is a leading Consultant Urologist specialising in robotic prostate cancer surgery and testis cancer surgery. He provides expert private urology care for patients in Harley Street, the City of London, and Essex, offering rapid access to diagnosis and treatment.

He qualified in medicine from the University of Cambridge in 2000 and completed specialist urology training in Scotland, followed by an advanced fellowship in robotic prostate cancer surgery at Karolinska University Hospital, Stockholm. He became a UK-certified Consultant in 2014 and has held senior consultant roles at Barts Health and University College London (UCLH) NHS Trusts, with a specialist focus on robotic prostatectomy. He is currently a clinical lead for the Uro-oncology service at UCLH, which is the part of the largest Urology Department in the UK.

Professor Rajan is Professor of Urology and Robotic Surgery at Queen Mary University of London and holds a PhD in prostate cancer. His research-led practice ensures patients benefit from the latest evidence-based treatments.

He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England, serves on the British Association of Urological Surgeon Section of Oncology Committee, and Prostate Cancer UK Research Advisory Committee.

Research interests

Professor Rajan leads a team of research scientists at Barts Cancer Institute (BCI), a world-class cancer research centre at Queen Mary University of London. His research focuses on prostate cancer, aiming to identify new drugs and develop tests to improve cancer diagnosis, monitoring, and treatment. He also investigates patient outcomes following existing therapies and leads clinical trials of novel treatments for prostate and testicular cancers. Professor Rajan’s translational research seeks to improve outcomes for patients with urological cancers. He has secured over £4 million in research funding and published nearly 100 peer-reviewed articles, book chapters, and reviews.
