About me

My philosophy for helping people with the difficulties or struggles which they may be going through, is based on four key principles: acceptance, change, compassion and empowerment. I believe all four of these principles work together to support positive transformation.
I balance my approach depending on the client’s needs, focusing on either acceptance or change strategies. I have a supportive, compassionate and non-judgemental style to help facilitate the process of therapy. I strive to support individuals’ sense of empowerment allowing them to move forward with greater confidence and understanding following therapy. The beauty is that even after formal therapy has ended, they will have additional skills and knowledge to embrace life's challenges.
Eleanor has worked in the field of mental health and psychology for over 13 years, specialising at doctorate level in forensic and clinical psychology. She completed her clinical training at University of Birmingham.
She has experience of working with adults and children in a variety of settings, including within the National Health Service (NHS), the Ministry of Defence (MOD), Women's Charities, the Probation & Prison service as well as other hospital and community settings. She has delivered training and workshops within a number of these settings, and has taught at universities on their Doctorate in Clinical Psychology courses.
