About me

Dr Morrison has gained many years’ clinical experience providing individual and group therapeutic treatment within the adult and adolescent populations. She specializes in providing evidence-based therapy for those experiencing a wide range of difficulties, up to and including severe and enduring mental health problems. Dr Morrison has experience working within both primary and secondary care within the National Health Service as well as within the educational and private sectors. She can work flexibly and effectively within a short-term or longer-term mandate.

Dr Morrison currently works at a Russel Group University providing individual counselling, running groups, and delivering workshops for the students and staff. She also has experience mentoring, line managing, and in shaping service policy. Additionally, she has been a visiting lecturer at the University of Worcester for over five years teaching post-graduates’ contextual behavioural therapies and other topics within counselling psychology.

She has been trained in a variety of therapeutic models, including existential, psychodynamic, and cognitive behavioural therapies, and thus has much experience utilizing a flexible and integrative treatment approach according to client need. However, she has a particular interest in the evidence-based therapies that focus on providing meaningful change within a time-limited framework, such as Acceptance and Compassion Focused Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Therapies, Solution Focused Therapy, and Compassion Focused Therapy.

She has lived in three countries, previously working as an attorney, before relocating to the United Kingdom and getting her Doctorate in Counselling Psychology.
