About me
Mr Adrian Day completed the 2nd M.B. Pre-Clinical Medicine Examinations and gained a 2.1 Commendations intercalated B.Med.Biol. degree in Pharmacology from the University of Aberdeen in 1984. He subsequently graduated from the University of Cambridge in 1986 having completed his Medical Degree M.B.B.Chir. with an award of Distinction in Surgery. He passed the Primary F.R.C.S. England in 1989 and the F.R.C.S. England in 1991. He trained in Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgery as a Specialist Registrar and Senior Registrar on the St. Bartholomew's London and subsequently The Percivall Pott training program between 1991 and 1997. He won the Sir Walter Mercer medal for the F.R.C.S. Orth. final fellowship examination and undertook a Fellowship in Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgery at Sunnybrook Health Science Centre in Toronto, Canada with a special interest in Pelvic and Acetabular Reconstruction. He was appointed as a consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon at St George's University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, London in 1998 and has over 20 years experience working in a Major Trauma Centre. His elective NHS practice is based at The South West London Elective Orthopaedic Centre. He has research interests in pelvic and acetabular reconstruction, complex lower limb trauma and deformity correction, multi-ligament knee reconstruction and knee arthroplasty. He has published in peer reviewed journals and is currently a reviewer for Clinical Orthopaedics and Related Research.
He is a member of the British Orthopaedic Association BOA, the British Association for Surgery of the Knee BASK and attends meetings of the British Limb Reconstruction Society BLRS and the British Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society BOFAS.
