About me
Clinical Interests
Comprehensive stone disease management including medical and surgical treatment such as ESWL, ureteroscopy and PCNL. Currently, I head the ESWL service at St Peters offering the least invasive means to treat stones.
Full diagnostic workup and management of various urological conditions in paediatric urology as well as performing surgery involving the penoscrotal area in children such as circumcision, undescended testes etc
Diagnosis, management and treatment of general urological conditions like bladder cancer, BPH, prostate cancer etc.
I was appointed and commenced practice as a Consultant Urologist in Ashford and St Peters Hospital NHS trust in 2017.
I am an active member within my department and involved in a number of activities including Audits and Research, training junior doctors from Foundation year level to senior Registrars with active supervision and mentoring at all levels. I act as clinical and educational supervisor to Foundation Year trainees and as Clinical Supervisor to senior trainees. I am also regularly involved in teaching and supervising medical students.
I qualified as a Doctor in 1996 with a Distinction in Pharmacology and Microbiology from Bombay University, India and subsequently trained and qualified as a General Surgeon attaining the Master of Surgery degree in 2000 from Bombay University. I underwent further training in Urology and qualified as a Urologist gaining the Diplomate of the National Board in Urology (New Delhi) in 2005. Within the UK, I continued with further training through National Selection in the West Midlands rotation qualifying as a Urologist in the UK with the award of the FRCS Edinburgh in 2015. During this time, I worked in major tertiary centres throughout the Midlands with invaluable experience gained in a wide spectrum of urological conditions.
I was awarded the Fellow of the European Board of Urology (FEBU) degree in 2017. I have, over the course of my training career, gained a total of 7 medical degrees. I have also had research experience with direct involvement as an Investigator in a number of international drug trials. I have a number of presentations and publications at national and international meetings and conferences.
