About me

Phil qualified from Nottingham University Medical School in 2010 and completed surgical and sub-specialty urological training in the East Midlands. During his training he undertook an additional research fellowship at the Jon Van Geest Cancer Research Centre completing an MPhil in cancer biomarker research. During the latter stages of his urological training he developed a specialist interest in urothelial upper tract, bladder and renal cancer.

He currently works as a Consultant Urological Surgeon at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust and specialise in urological renal/upper tract and pelvic oncology. This encompasses the management of patients with superficial and advanced bladder cancer, upper tract urothelial cancer and renal cancer. He specialises in extensive pelvic and upper tract renal surgery, including open, robotic and laparoscopic/minimally invasive techniques along with all aspects of general urological surgery. This includes benign prostate surgery including transurethral resection of the prostate surgery (TURP), Aquablation of the prostate and prostate cancer diagnostics.

He is the current urological-oncology MDT lead for Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust.

Outside of work he is a keen middle and long distance runner and golfer. He is married with two young children.
