About me

I have worked as an Integrative Young Person & Adult Counsellor/Mental Health Therapist (since 2006) in practice with young people, adults, families, couples and professionals. During my long career I have set up counselling & supervision services in two middle schools and worked with students, staff and parents. I have taught in the field of Counselling and Psychotherapy (2008-2019) as Lecturer/Course Director of the Access to HE Diploma in Counselling at the West Suffolk College in Bury St. Edmunds and worked as the Head of Counselling & Supervision of the Women’s Aid Centre in Bury St. Edmunds (2008-2018), working with women, children, staff and trainee counsellors in placement.

Today, I work solely in private practice, I offer counselling to adults and young people, and counselling and clinical supervision to both trainee and qualified counsellors, and staff of organisations locally. I am also a qualified Trauma Informed Schools & Communities Practitioner and an advanced BWRT (Brain Working Recursive Therapy) practitioner. I enjoy studying and research in my professional field and strive to keep my Continuing Professional Development record current and attend workshops regularly as well as undertaking qualifications that aid and are relevant to my work. I have been a member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists since 2007, becoming Accredited in 2009 and Senior Accredited in 2015 until February 2024. I am currently a senior accredited member of the National Counselling Society. Both membership bodies are accredited by the governments voluntary Professional Standards Authority register (PSA). This guarantees that I have met a high level of training and experience.
