About me
I am a consultant in upper gastrointestinal (Upper GI) and general surgery based at the Wirral University Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. After completing my higher specialist training in the South West and London deanery, I pursued a fellowship in upper GI surgery at two world-renowned centres: Royal Adelaide Hospital in Australia, and St. James Hospital in Leeds. I specialise in treating patients with biliary (gallstone and pancreas) disease, reflux disease, and abdominal wall hernia using a laparoscopic (keyhole) approach. I am also accredited in diagnostic and therapeutic gastroscopy.
I am a member of the Association of Laparoscopic Surgeons of Great Britain and Ireland (ALSGBI), and the European Association of Endoscopic Surgery (EAES).
I have an active interest in patient-reported outcomes having done a higher degree from the University of Bristol, and have authored book chapters and papers in peer-reviewed journals in this field. I maintain a great interest in teaching and training, and am an accredited trainer on a number of Royal College of Surgeons run courses including the internationally acclaimed Non-Operative Technical Skills for Surgeons (NOTSS) course.
