About me
Franziska Schmidt-Dengler is a Registered Osteopath and Chartered Physiotherapist at the Putney Clinic of Physical Therapy. She graduated as a physiotherapist in Vienna in 2004. She subsequently worked at the outpatient trauma unit at Vienna General Hospital (AKH Wien). During this time, she also worked at a private sports clinic. After moving to Paris, Fran worked at the Cancer Unit of the Georges Pompidou European Hospital. She also worked at a private clinic, where she focused on scoliosis.
Fran moved to London in 2010 and helped to set up and develop Infant Massage at St. George’s Hospital within the paediatric unit. In 2014, she completed her Master of Science in Osteopathy at the British School of Osteopathy (now University College of Osteopathy). Since then, she has worked as both a physiotherapist and osteopath, first in Marylebone and the City, and now in Putney.
Fran combines physiotherapy and osteopathy in all her approaches to pain management, injury prevention, injury rehabilitation, pre and post surgery, women’s health and paediatrics. Her rehabilitation methods draw inspiration from Feldenkrais, the Alexander Technique, Pilates, Yoga, Neurokinetic Therapy, Schroth, Functional Rehab and, of course, her patients. This approach allows Fran to offer her patients a tailored programme of rehabilitation.
Fran danced for 8 years and, being hypermobile herself, has a special interest in hypermobility, dance and theatre. She has studied physical theatre at the Jacques Lecoq International School of Theatre.
