Dr Roland Watura MBChB, MRCP, FRCR
Dr Roland Watura trained at the University of Wales College of Medicine in Cardiff. He is a Consultant Musculoskeletal Radiologist at Southmead Hospital in Bristol. He specialises in most areas of musculoskeletal radiology investigating and treating tendon, soft tissue, bone and joint pathologies. He has a particular specialist interest in spine imaging and spine therapeutic procedures.
Areas of interest
Dr Roland Watura has specialist interest in spine imaging and spine therapeutic procedures. The treatment procedures he provides include lumbar nerve root blocks using fluoroscopy or CT guidance, cervical nerve root blocks using CT guidance, facet joint and medial branch blocks using fluoroscopy or CT. He also has specialist interest in sports medicine including Radiological investigation of sporting injuries and image guided treatment procedures using fluoroscopy, ultrasound or CT. These include joint injections, injections into tendon sheaths to treat tenosynovitis . Other therapeutic procedures offered include ultrasound guided treatments for shoulder pain due to conditions such as subacromial bursitis, ultrasound guided babotage for calcific tendinitis of the shoulder, fluoroscopic guided hydrodilatation for frozen shoulder and high volume injections for Achilles tendonosis.
