About me
I am currently working as Consultant in Urological Surgery at UHNM, Rowley Hall in Stafford and North Staffordshire hospital. I have been a consultant in Urology since 2006. I have recently in 2019 moved to Stoke, having worked at University hospital Ayr in Scotland till then. I had completed basic medical degree from Kerala University, India in 1989, went on to complete MS in General surgery in 1993 from the same University. I have also completed my fellowship in general surgery and Urology. In between I completed Diploma in Urology with University of London.
My Work
Stone surgery
Stone surgery is my basic sub speciality interest. I have expertise in managing all complex stones. I am currently involved in all aspects of management and follow up of urinary tract stones. PCNL tracts are done by interventional radiology for me.
Prostate diagnostics
I have developed special interest in prostate diagnostics. I have done large numbers of TRUS and biopsy of prostate before. I have moved and trained to do Artemis guided fusion biopsies of prostate. I am adept at visual and cognitive targeting for prostate biopsies as well. I am in the process of learning and moving to do LA transperineal prostate biopsies.
Erectile dysfunction
I have expertise in management of erectile dysfunction. I have had extensive experience in management of erectile dysfunction in men and have been doing penile straightening surgery (Nesbitt’s corporoplasty) for Peyronie’s disease.
Female Urology
I had provided female urology services at University hospital of Ayr. I was involved in all aspects of management including urethral diverticulum, urethral mucosal prolapse, urethral caruncle, Skene’s & Bartholin cyst surgery and fistula repair. I had regularly performed continence procedures, with newer bulking agents (Bulkamid). I have extensive experience with intravesical Botox injections. I have helped in management of complex female urology cases in Royal Stoke University Hospital.
Male LUTS
I have special interest in male LUTS management both medical and surgical. I have had extensive experience with the same. I am one on the consultants in UHNM with expertise in managing large prostates surgically.
General Urology
I have extensive experience in management of all aspects of peno-scrotal surgery and all general urological procedures.
