About me

Dr Vikas specialises in the treatment of personality disorders and trauma with the delivery of a skills-based therapy called Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT) which targets emotion regulation, distress tolerance strategies, interpersonal effectiveness and mindfulness all of which constitute to optimising well-being. Recent research has shown the effectiveness to ADHD and anxiety and mood disorders. Dr Vikas uses the treatment Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR) to target specific memories that cause current distress and treatment of comped post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) trauma. More so, Dr Vikas provides a treatment called Radically Open DBT to address excessive self-control or overcontrol presentations such as depression, treatment-resistant anxiety disorders, anorexia nervosa and Autism spectrum Disorders. Dr Vikas provides a bespoke treatment plan based on current concerns and a thorough understanding of the individual's story. This includes the holistic view of physical and psychological well-being.
Dr Vikas has a wealth of experience in the NHS and private sectors. Dr Vikas leads a personality disorder service in the NHS and currently provides clinical lead at The Priory Hospital Harley Street.
Dr Vikas has an interest in BAME and LGBT psychological well-being and the treatment of both young people and adults.
