About me

Krista Farrell is a consultant neurologist at the West Hertfordshire NHS Trust and the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery. She is Clinical Lead for Neurology at West Herts and established the acute neurology outpatient service at West Herts where she manages patients with a wide range of neurological conditions. She was elected to the council of the Association of British Neurologists in 2023.

Dr Farrell completed her undergraduate medical training at Trinity College, Cambridge and has an MA in Experimental Psychology. She completed her higher specialist training in teaching hospitals in Cambridge and London and was a research fellow at the Cambridge Centre for Brain Repair. Her research was on biomarkers and novel therapeutics for Parkinson's Disease, and she currently serves as a clinical advisor for the charity Parkinson's Care and Support U.K.

A dedicated educator, Dr Farrell has taught for many years in both Cambridge and London. She is an honorary Lecturer at University College London, Education Lead for Neuroscience at the Cleveland Clinic and played a key role in the development the undergraduate neurology curriculum at Brunel University Medical School.

Dr Farrell is deeply committed to patient care and is consistently recognised for her empathy and clear communication with patients frequently highlighting her ability to explain complex neurological problems, ensuring they feel informed and supported throughout their care.
