About me

I am an HCPC registered Clinical Psychologist with over ten years of experience helping adults, couples and families with a range of difficulties across different NHS and private settings. I provide support for general adult mental health, with a specialism in perinatal mental health.

In therapy, I support people to better understand and cope with a range of difficulties, including anxiety, worry, low mood, feeling stressed or overwhelmed, low self-esteem, and overcoming difficult or traumatic experiences.

I have a special interest and experience in supporting parents and those within the perinatal period (pregnancy, birth and adjusting to parenthood).

How can I help?
I offer both short and longer term therapy. I use an integrative approach to therapy. This means that I am aim to work flexibly alongside you to adapt our therapy to what best fits your difficulties, current circumstances and what complements you as a person.

I will draw on my skills and experience in different evidence based therapies, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), and Narrative Therapy.

I understand that the idea of therapy can be a daunting prospect. I aim to create a non-judgmental and containing therapy space using compassion and empathy to help you feel comfortable enough to get the most out of our time together. Through therapy I hope to empower you to move towards your personal goals and ultimately be able to live a more fulfilling life in line with your strengths and values.

What is the next step?
The first step is to send me a message letting me know what you would like help with and any questions you may have. From here, I can send you more information or we can arrange a free 15 minute telephone consultation to briefly discuss what you are looking for.

Following this, if you are happy to, we will set up our first appointment (called a consultation) together. During this appointment we will talk in some more detail, at your pace, about what brings you to therapy and what you would like help with. If you are happy to continue we will set up some therapy sessions together. Sessions will generally occur at the same time every week or fortnight.
