About me
I am a BACP accredited counsellor with a Post Graduate Diploma in Psychodynamic Counselling from Brighton University. Alongside my private practice I work at Sussex University counselling service and have been in post for over ten years.
Before setting out on my counselling career I worked in the charity sector working with adolescents. I facilitated workshops around drugs, alcohol, healthy relationships and issues around gender and identity. Working with up to 120 teenagers at a time on residential projects, I developed good listening skills and decided to embark on counselling training. Qualifying from Brighton University with a post graduate diploma in Psychodynamic counselling in 2014.
My work as a counsellor in the University sector, means that I have gained extensive experiences of working with a broad range of issues that arise in adulthood . Psychodynamic counselling explores how our past experience influences how we behave in the here and now. I use an integrative approach to suit the needs of the individual client and I am also able to draw from a range of therapeutic models including CBT. Together we can find the approach that will suit your individual needs. Helping to bring about positive change and growth.
