About me

I offer trauma focused therapy for young people and adults, including EMDR , Video Interaction Guidance (VIG) and Energy Psychotherapy.

I work with clients who experience/have experienced high levels of distress and trauma and in particular, complex trauma (C-PTSD) which is a consequence of early life experiences of distress and adversity.

I offer trauma focused interventions in the context of skills and knowledge and practice as a child and educational psychologist and trauma therapist working with adults and children.

I work with over 25 years experience of understanding of child development as well as experience working with adults , babies and children whose interactions and relationships may be damaged through the impact of attachment rupture, adversity and trauma.

I am an advanced Video Interaction Guidance (VIG) practitioner with experience working with babies and mothers, as well as with parents and other adults who care for, support and work with children and young people across a range of settings - including home, school and special provision.

I am also a supervisor trainee for practitioners wishing to gain accreditation in Video Interaction Guidance (VIG). VIG is a NICE guidelines recommended intervention for building positive relationships between adult and child, including for mothers who may struggle to attach to their babies as a result of post natal depression. I can offer this intervention to families where there are difficulties in the relationship/s between adult and child which may occur for many reasons, including , for example, family changes and separation, parental/child illness, adoption, loss and bereavement.

Although I am based in the North West of England, I can offer psychological and trauma therapy services to adults and young people across all areas of the UK through all the available online platforms.
