About me
Dr Brook Adams MBBS(Hons), BSc(Hons), MRCP, PGDip(HRes), FRCR, EDiHNR, EDiNR
Brook is a Consultant Radiologist working within the York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS trust. Brook graduated from the Hull York Medical School in 2010 with honours and the founding Dean's award for best academic performance and then went on to obtain a 1st in medical physics and bioengineering at University College London, where he undertook imaging-based research. Brook completed medical and radiology training in Yorkshire. He holds European diplomas both in head and neck and neuroradiology. Brook is passionate about education, being a supervisor and lecturer for radiology trainees in the region and senior honorary lecturer for the Hull York Medical School. He received a national teaching award in 2022. He is a regular speaker at conferences and courses and is a member of the British Society of Head and Neck Imaging. He was MRI lead clinician at his NHS trust for 6 years and works closely with primary and secondary care clinicians devising guidelines and protocols to improve the head and neck and neuroradiology services in the region. He also contributes to several multidisciplinary teams in his NHS job, covering head and neck oncology, neurosciences, thyroid/parathyroid and orbital diseases. Brook reports all neuro and head and neck related cross-sectional radiology (CT and MR) and head and neck ultrasound. He also provides neck core biopsy and FNA services, having performed in excess of 1500 procedures with diagnostic rates of >95% for core biopsy and 80-85% for FNA.
