He is both a fellow and member of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health.

Dr. Simon Shaw is a Consultant Physician in Rehabilitation Medicine and the Clinical Director of National Spinal Injuries centre at Stoke Mandeville Hospital. He is a specialist in managing disability and recovery from both injury and illness in both children and adults. .

His main interests and holistic approach is with managing spinal injuries, amputees & prosthetics and congenital limb difference and limb loss in both children and adults, complex orthotics, neuro-disability particularly conditions arising in childhood like Polio, Cerebral Palsy and Spinal Bifida.

Qualified from Cambridge and Oxford University Medical Schools prior to progressing into paediatrics and primary care and then specialising in Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine.

He was previously the Lead clinician at the Bowley Close Regional Specialist Rehabilitation Service for assistive technology including prosthetics, orthotics, Specialist seating and Assistive Communication service. And was also the lead for the post-polio service and managing neuro-disability at the famous Lane Fox Respiratory Service at St Thomas Hospital. he also managed
