About me

I'm Dr. Nick Walsh, a Consultant psychiatrist with a special focus on neurodivergence, mental health, and the intricate connections between physical and emotional well-being. My practice is dedicated to helping adults over the age of 18 who are searching for answers, clarity, and support for their mental health challenges.

I often work with individuals who feel misunderstood or overlooked in their previous encounters with healthcare providers. Whether you are grappling with ADHD, autism, anxiety, depression, OCD, trauma, or complex physical health symptoms, I provide a space where you can feel seen, heard, and understood. Together, we can uncover the root causes of your difficulties, make sense of your experiences, and help you move forward with confidence.

Why Choose My Practice?
Many of the patients I see are highly functioning individualspeople who mask their struggles, who are dealing with undiagnosed neurodivergence, or who are trying to piece together how their mental and physical health issues connect.

Specialist Expertise in Neurodivergence: I have a wealth of experience working with ADHD, autism, and their associated challenges, including masking, sensory sensitivities, and emotional dysregulation. Women and members of the LGBTQ+ community often face unique hurdles, and my practice prioritizes creating a safe and affirming environment for all.

Holistic Care for the Mind and Body: Mental health doesn't exist in isolation. I take a broad approach to care, considering both physical and psychological factors. Chronic fatigue syndrome, joint hypermobility, mast cell activation syndrome, fibromyalgia, and menstrual difficulties often overlap with neurodivergence, and I help my patients connect these dots to find meaningful solutions.

Collaborative and Individualised Treatment Plans: Your journey is unique. Whether you need therapy, medication, mindfulness practices, or a combination of approaches, we will design a treatment plan together that reflects your goals and values.

Trauma-Informed Approach: Many of my patients have experienced trauma that is either linked to or separate from their neurodivergence. This often includes emotional difficulties, impulsive behaviours, or challenges with relationships and finances. I understand the deep impact trauma can have and work compassionately to address it.

What Makes My Approach Different?
When you come to see me, you're not just getting a diagnosis. My goal is to help you make sense of what's happening in your life. Many of my patients come to me feeling frustrated and overwhelmed after years of being misunderstood, dismissed, or given treatments that don't work.

I take the time to explore your symptoms in-depthmental, emotional, and physical. This often includes:

Untangling the overlap between conditions like ADHD, autism, anxiety, and depression.
Identifying how trauma or misdiagnoses might have affected you.

Exploring physical health conditions that are common in neurodivergent individuals but are often overlooked, such as chronic pain, digestive issues, or sensory sensitivities.

Together, we create a detailed picture of your experiences, which helps us chart a path forward. This could involve therapy, medication, or alternative approaches like mindfulness and meditation to address both the psychological and physical aspects of well-being.
