About me
Catherine is a compassionate and highly skilled Clinical Psychologist and accredited EMDR Practitioner with over 20 years clinical experience. She worked within the NHS from 2003-2022, providing psychological assessment, formulation and therapy for individuals, families and carers. Catherine has experience across a variety of specialisms including Adult Mental Health, Primary Care, Public Health, Physical Health and Occupational Health services. She has also worked systemically, providing psychological input at a Health Board, National and Government level.
Catherine is warm, open and straight forward as a person and as a therapist. She creates a safe space where she and clients (aged 16 and upwards) can work together to understand and tackle difficulties and distress. She works with individuals who are experiencing a range of psychological difficulties, such as: depression/ low mood, anxiety disorders (e.g. phobias, panic, health anxiety, performance/social anxiety, OCD), trauma related difficulties (including PTSD), interpersonal difficulties, adjustment to health issues/life events, bereavement/loss, disordered eating and burnout.
Catherine draws from a wide-range of evidence-based therapeutic approaches to create specific interventions tailored to individual need. These approaches include: Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Compassion Focussed Therapy (CFT), Behaviour Family Therapy (BFT), Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT) and Internal Family Systems Therapy (IFS).
Catherine is a chartered member of the British Psychological Society and a registered Psychologist Practitioner with the Health and Care Professionals Council (HCPC membership number: PYL24224)
Catherine is an accredited EMDR Practitioner (EMDR UK)
