About me

I am a Consultant ENT, Head & Neck and Thyroid surgeon based at University Hospitals Bristol and The Nuffield Hospital, Bristol. I specialise in treating benign and malignant conditions of the throat, salivary glands and thyroid. I also have a special interest in complex nasal surgery including primary and revision endoscopic sinus surgery, septoplasty and turbinate surgery.

I trained in Oxford and Bristol, before undertaking an international Fellowship in advanced head & neck cancer and robotic surgery in Adelaide, Australia. I gained a PhD for my research into head & neck cancer, and I have received several national awards including the Margaret Witt Scholarship for clinical excellence and the Modi Surgical Research Fellowship from the Royal College of Surgeons.

I have a strong interest in research, and have been a member of the National Cancer Research Institute's Head & Neck Clinical Studies Group. I have published over 25 peer-reviewed papers in the field of ENT, head and neck cancer and robotics.

I am actively involved in teaching at an undergraduate and postgraduate level. I hold the Postgraduate Certificate of Medical Education, and wrote the ENT component of the new undergraduate medical syllabus for students at the University of Bristol.
