About me
I am a Chartered Counselling Psychologist (CPsychol, BPS and HCPC accredited and registered) and Cognitive Behavioural Therapist (BABCP accredited) working for the NHS and in private practice. I work with adults, children and families on an individual and group basis. My practice integrates psychological approaches including traditional and 3rd wave mindfulness-based Cognitive Behavioural Therapies (CBT) including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT) in addition to attachment theory and systemic family therapy. I have over 10 years of clinical experience working with individuals and families experiencing mental health and neurodivergent associated difficulties including managing feelings of anxiety, low mood, depression, panic, stress, trauma, low self-confidence and self-esteem. Relational and social communication/interactional difficulties in addition to environmental and contextual factors are explored. I take a holistic approach using psychological formulation to explore the whole person, their history, current difficulties and lifestyle factors. I have an interest in nature connectedness and yoga psychology, working with the mind body relationship by incorporating body based somatic and breath work practices into my work, In addition to face-to-face sessions in the clinic, I offer remote video consultations and also active, mindfulness and walking-talking sessions in nature. I personalise sessions always in collaboration with each individual client and their intended focus for therapy, in accordance with their personal values.
Areas of interest
Through a holistic, bio/psycho/social and spiritual lens, I work on a relational level to help individuals and families identify presenting difficulties and then work towards making meaningful change in-line with their goals and personal values. I place value and great importance upon my relationships to nature, my family and friends, movement and community; understanding the health benefits of meaningful connection as such. I have advanced my curiosity, training and practice since moving solely into independent practice, bringing greater focus on the mind body relationship, embodiment and nervous system regulation; incorporating somatic enquiry and practices with my clients.
